midendian's Great TODO List of Life, Death, Everywhere InBetween, and Blue Bearded Sporks
And we're off on our merry little way... where we will end is all too finite... The goal is to knock over as many white trashcans as possible without harming the blue and red ones. Do that, and you're dead. Which might be nicer. But the point here is not about why we exist, but only about what we must do while we're "here". So then.... Maybe some of this stuff might go as planned...
I'm not sure how I really want to do this. I'm gonna wing it...
- 24Nov1998: Write up the following new web sites:
- CeHS AD club (now that I'm on the team, I feel a bit more obligated...)
- Great TODO List of Life, Death, Everywhere InBetween, and Blue Bearded Sporks (hey, how about that)
- The Definitive Doodling Archive (ya, I'm getting tired of carrying it all around)
- 27Nov1998: Need to finish setting up doug to netboot Linux -- have it mostly set up, just need to compile a kernel with tulip drivers and start the already modified slack 3.6 install
By Task
- AOL protocol
- stare at James' code for a bit
- write some restriction free code and docs
- faim
- libfaim -- still need chat/direct chat/direct file transfer and cleanups
- faimbot
- AIMd -- needs status and buddy list stuff, not to mention ICBMs and better multiuser handling; oh, and it should let WinAIM clients log in
- alternative interface for naim?
- Jabber backend for libfaim -- this will require a custom libfaim; from what Temas says about whats needed, it will be acting kind of like a gateway and not an actual client. libfaim's connection management routines are something I dont even want to try handling several hundred, let alone a thousand connections with -- its got loops that are far from tight.
- /dev/ti
- IBM Wireless drivers for linux
- mammatus
- menu system
- Needs better UI
- Needs improved IR remote protocol handling (ie, something other than read-a-byte-and-hope-its-right)
- Alps/TEA6320 drivers -- DONE
- move to standalone system
- Old hardware
- Pericom -- old thing we picked up nearly a year ago; has a cracked mobo (i think); its not a thick board, should be nearly trivial to fix (of course, I havent looked at it since we got it); this box is of unknown function and is extremely rare (although not very useful either); m68000 based; graphical terminal of some sort, possibly proprietary visualization terminal
- Sun4/330 -- never got this working; may need serial UART replaced; serial console gives garbage
- SPARCstation 2 (or is it a 1+?); needs linux on it.
- ALSA: Fix GUS for static record buffer as well as playback buffer
- Get all my system clocks synched
- Majordomo, majordomo, majordomo...yick
- Video Blaster driver, maybe Video Spigot as well
- Move lan to new IP scheme...and update DNS tables
- Get X10 going on linux
- Get 8227 to boot...and get rid of WinGate!
Adam Fritzler / midendian / Someone You never ever ever want to actually meet in real life as he'll probably be rather rude to you... Created in a misty daze on the local night of 24 Nov 1998... about the time a Simpsons rerun was about to start... and an iMac commercial to end... Ha!
